HISTORY


It all started when a graduate student by the name of Roy Raymond, a Stanford graduate felt embarrassed when it came to purchasing lingerie for his wife from a department store. Residing in San Francisco in 1977, he decided to open his first Victoria's Secret store located in the open-air, upscale Stanford shopping center. Appealing to both men and women, Roy had the ability to open 6 stores grossing over 6 million in sales. After 5 years of operation in 1982, Roy sold the Victoria's Secret chain to "The Limited" now known as Limited Brands. Since then the company Victoria's Secret is owned by Leslie Wexner.


PURPOSE


The purpose of this blog is to breakdown the specifics of Victoria's Secret and to be designed as a platform to show the strengths and weaknesses of the company. Each tab listed on this blog with help breakdown the company's strengths and weaknesses that impact their overall business strategy. In a later tab, our team will provide recommendations. Each recommendation will touch on an aspect of the above mentioned information system and how it can be enhanced so that Best Buy may maximize their strategy.


Behind the success of any company, there are foundations that evolve to fit the trend of generations to come. We continued to learn about the foundations that utilize social media and marketing campaigns and continue to expand the demographics of Victoria Secret’s market. We further analyzed the trends set through Victoria Secret’s social media pages, and how they utilize those pages to send the company message to all demographics. 

Below we’ve attached statistics that show the growth of Victoria Secret’s Instagram over the course of almost two years, which shows the rapid growth of their follower count.
